Lane Productions is one of Ireland’s most successful independent
theatre production companies. Formed in 1998 by Pat Moylan and
Breda Cashe the company has acquired a reputation for producing
top quality theatre for both the Irish and International markets.
Pat Moylan was Artistic Director of Andrews Lane Theatre for
the past 18 years. She has also worked as a freelance producer
both in theatre and film and her credits include Women on
the Verge of HRT for London’s West End and three successful
UK tours, a film adaptation of Brendan Behan’s book Borstal
Boy directed by Peter Sheridan and she produced the highly
successful play Stones in his Pockets by Marie Jones,
for Dublin, the West End and Broadway, and Thoroughly Modern
Millie for London’s West End in 2004 and UK tour in 2005.
Prior to forming Lane Productions Breda’s career spanned a number
of disciplines including graphic design, public relations, event
management and arts marketing. Since joining forces with Pat they
have successfully produced Catalpa by Donal O’Kelly
(Dublin, Toronto and Washington), Out of Order Sweetie
(Andrews Lane Theatre and Tivoli Theatre, Dublin), The Condos
- Hey Get A Life by Jonathan Kidd (Andrews Lane Theatre)
Women on the Verge Get A Life (Gaiety Theatre, Dublin),
Didi’s Big Day by Paul Walker (Andrews Lane Theatre),
How the Other Half Loves by Alan Ayckbourn (Dublin
and Cork).
In 1999 Lane Productions took Alone It Stands
by John Breen under their wing and since then it has played in
all of the major Irish Theatres including the Gaiety and Olympia
Theatres, Dublin and for a highly successful season at The Duchess
Theatre in London’s West End. In August 2002 Lane Productions
co-produced the play with Mollison Productions for a season at
the Sydney Opera House, Sky City, Auckland and the Royal Theatre
Sydney.
Most recent productions include 12 Angry Men by
Reginald Rose (Andrews Lane Theatre, Dublin, Gaiety Theatre, Dublin,
Olympia Theatre, Dublin and Irish National Tour), Forty-Four
Sycamore by Bernard Farrell (Andrews Lane and Irish National
tour), A Night in November by Marie Jones (Liberty
Hall, Andrews Lane Theatre and National Irish Tour), Triple
Espresso (Andrews Lane and National Irish Tour and London’s
West End), and A Slice of Saturday Night (Spirit,
Dublin).
Lane Productions also presented The Blind Fiddler
by Marie Jones, at the Belfast Opera House and the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival, Dinner With Friends by Donald Margulies
at Andrews Lane Theatre and the hugely successful I, Keano
which played to capacity audiences for 28 weeks at the
Olympia Theatre Dublin, an Irish tour and Manchester.
Their most recent success is 84, Charing Cross Road
that enjoyed 5 star reviews and played to capacity houses.
