I, Keano is based on the most important event in world history, when Ireland footballer Roy Keane was sent home from Saipan on the eve of the 2002 World Cup.

An ancient Federation sends a legion to an island to prepare for a momentous war. Keano, their greatest warrior, has a passion for perfection exceeded only by his fierce and unpredictable temper.

Macartacus, their well-meaning General, is aided by the ambitious Quinnus, who builds children’s hospitals and gets PR advice from his wife Surfia, and by the laid-back Packie Bonnerus, an expert in using the net things that gladiators fight with.

The problems start when Keano arrives. He finds that the ground is too hard, the troops are partying, and the Federation, represented by the inebriated junketeer Ridiculus, has forgotten to bring any daggers and tunics...
