This hilarious play tells the stories behind the match described as the rugby equivalent of Cobh Ramblers beating Brazil at soccer. Witness the drama of the 'kamikaze tacklers' which turned the tide of the game, the celebrations in Limerick when Munster had achieved the impossible.

There is a birth, a bonfire, a wake and a rugby match that will never be forgotten. We meet Gerry and Lanky, on the scrounge for tickets, Gerry's wife Mary about to have twins. We get to see two teams in training, and the rousing pep talks from the respective coaches. The Limerick gals poking fun at the Kiwis. In the meantime, four younger Limerick lads are more concerned with building the best bonfire for Halloween than any 'old rugby match'.

Alone it Stands is performed by six actors playing a myriad of roles - Tony Ward and the Munster team, the All Blacks and their coach, the fanatical Limerick rugby fans desperate for tickets, the 'quality' up from Cork, a ball, a dog and of course the Bunratty singers!
